The District Social House

Because it was a grey morning, hinting rain at any moment, I felt the desire to be walking in the rainforest. Go figure. An excursion to Lynn Canyon gave the perfect reason to check out The District on the way. The restaurant is small-ish but not cramped. Me, I like sitting in those cozy window seats. Dubbed ‘social house’ by night, The District has a very keen selection of brews, however, not appropriate for a Sunday morning hike. What we did need was some sustenance.

My Brunch Bowl delivered – fried potatoes topped with marzano tomato relish, chorizo sausage, 2 fried eggs, and then hollandaise sauce. The taste was fantastic, the tomato relish was smoky, slightly spicy, full flavoured, it made the dish. My dining partners had the Brunch Benny (same as my bowl, but sitting on top of a English muffin) and the Omelette w/ Goat Cheese and Mushrooms. Espresso-style coffees (mine a decaf Americano) came with free refills. Thumbs up.
