UPDATE: Me & Julio is now closed.
---------------------------------
Sister restaurant, Lolita’s, used to run a very nice brunch and in the early days of Me & Julio, they did, as well. I guess the brunch service isn’t profitable or is more difficult to staff because Lolita’s canned their brunch and Me & Julio has pushed theirs to lunch hours with a minimal brunch menu. So brunch is kinda lunch.
Today the weather was spectacular, clear blue skies, but, brrrrrr, it was chilly. So, I needed a warm drink and the server suggested the Mexican Hot Chocolate – slightly less sweet and flavoured with cinnamon and nutmeg – it was delicious. For food, we started with Guacamole Classico, fresh-made guacamole over black bean dip, served with warm, spiced corn tortilla chips, topped with pickled cabbage and poblano pepper – really nice. Our mains were chosen from the lunch menu.
I miss the extensive brunch and I believe if Me & Julio’s topped up the brunch selections, more people would be inclined to visit early on a Sunday.
