Cucumber Café (CLOSED)

UPDATE (07/04/10): Ironically enough, Cucumber Café is now a Denny's.

Sometimes breakfast is the destination and sometimes breakfast is what I do on the way to a destination. Today was the latter. We were heading out to Centennial Beach at Boundary Bay and were looking for a breakfast spot along the way. This is how I came across the Cucumber Café located just across the Oak Street Bridge on the Richmond side near the Sandman Hotel. The best way I can describe it is as a modern Denny’s except they use fresh food, not frozen, the servers are young, and the decor is lounge-y chic.

The menu has a few updates on the classics. My Corned Beef Hash was served with a tasty chipotle hollandaise. Other updates include whole-wheat pancakes, french toast and english muffins. A bonus is that they serve breakfast here all day.

10211 St. Edwards Drive, Richmond
Breakfast hours: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Daily
