La Brasserie

Today’s breakfast adventure was inspired by a singular item on the new brunch menu at La Brasserie where brunch service started just a couple of weeks ago. And as soon as I saw they were serving Oeufs en Meurette, I knew there could be only one friend to call and invite along. I have heard her sing the praises of this dish for years and, until now, she has had to drive to Seattle to get it at Cafe Campagne.

While road trips are fun, it’s also fun knowing that when the sudden urge hits for eggs poached in red wine sauce and served with lardons and pearl onions, one can just go down the street to your neighbourhood Franco-German restaurant. If you were also craving an Omelette with Goat Cheese and Heirloom Tomatoes, you could do it all in one trip! Be sure to end your journey with the Pavlova with Peach Purée and Fresh Berries.

Ah, je suis complet.

1091 Davie Street
Brunch hours: Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
