De Dutch (Oak Street)

Formerly known as De Dutch Pannekoek House, this Vancouver-based chain of franchise restaurants have been recently rebranded as simply De Dutch. And although their new look is ‘clean’, they maintain their cutesy feel, monster menu and weekend line-ups. My guy was craving “pancakes, bacon and eggs” today and requested this spot.

And pancakes, bacon and eggs is what he had – De Dutch style. His Canadian Pannekoek contained all the requisite items then topped with maple syrup. My Pieroghi Pannekoek with cinnamony apples and stroop delivered as promised. Although, I was reminded today how important it is to trust your instincts when ordering. Go with your first choice, which is hard to do here, as the extended menu can keep you reeling trying to come up with the perfect one.
