Yucca Tree Café (White Rock)

The Victoria Day long weekend is when we make our annual pilgrimage to Langley to buy our heirloom tomato, vegetable and herb plants for the season. Why Langley? There is something we find so utterly delightful in touring “farm country” – grand vistas, gorgeous meadows, luxurious and rustic homes and barns, horses, cows, sheep, donkeys, vineyards, apple orchards, and more. Of course, I am referring to South Langley not the City of Langley.

The first stop is usually Vista D’oro Farms. So to have breakfast on the way meant a stop in White Rock at the Yucca Tree Café. Listening to the conversations between the staff and the customers, it was obvious that many of the patrons had been coming here for years, we were likely 20 to 30 years younger than the rest. The decor and the food are well suited to the clientele – it’s like a café you might find in a small country town.

We enjoyed our home-cooked food and the friendly staff.
