Uva Espresso Bar

Uva (translated from Italian as “grapes”) has what Italy is famous for – style. A wine bar by night, Uva is transformed into an espresso bar by day. Though daylight does not outshine the sleek chrome and leather stylings, nor the charm of the staff.

The breakfast menu here is selective –  a few egg dishes, a few cereal dishes – yet all created with an obvious love of ingredients and flair. While the food is precise, emphasis appears to be on the beverages with special care in the preparation of their espresso drinks. Uva strikes me as the place I’d want to be on a gloomy day enjoying a latté, luxuriating in the deep wingback chairs, and watching the rain come down.

900 Seymour Street
Breakfast hours: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday to Friday
7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday/Sunday

Hey I just discovered your site and I love it, been looking for something like this for a long time. And this Uva bar is good because it opens early. Would you have a classification for such restaurants that open real early? My girlfriend works nightshifts and finishes at 7am and we have looked around for a good breakfast place at that time. Zen's on Yew Street in Kits is where we usually end up. We went to several WhiteSpots and wonder how they can stay in business the food was so foul (went to three different ones). Anyways, early morning places?
