Au Petit Chavignol (CLOSED)

UPDATE (04/14/13): Sadly they are now closed.
I want to go back already! For those who aren’t aware, Au Petit Chavignol is a wine- and cheese-focused restaurant partnered with neighbouring shop, Les Amis du Fromage. Forgoing the wine, I did venture ever so delicately into the cheese arena. In hindsight, I should have dove in!

We had a scrumptious brunch – Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, Corned Beef Hash, Serrano Ham, Manchego, and Egg Sandwich, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and French Onion Soup - all executed in a simple, classic manner. Yet, I am now wondering why I did not order the poutine? Or the Croque Madame? Or the Raclette? Next time. And soon.

Gratefully, we did have the smarts to get two orders of the fresh-from-the-oven-to-table chocolate cookies! Slightly crispy outside and warm, oozing chocolate on the inside, almost brownie-like. The cookies are incredibly rich and I noticed they were served in paper bags, as if it was assumed one would not be able to finish them all in one sitting, and could take them home. Yeah, right. Nothing but empty paper bags were left.
